Hi everyone! I want to share with you this new challenge that Kids’ Cabin takes on: integrating STEAM into our preschool curriculum (Nursery, Pre-Kinder and Kinder), mixing it into play with our Playgroups Activities for toddlers and pumping it up into our summer workshops.
You may be asking right now…What is STEAM?
Have you noticed the summer programs flyers posted a few days ago, where we offer “STEAM Workshops”? Well, STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Okay, I’m not talking about heavy science stuff, in fact, STEAM is found in a lot of everyday ways, all around us… the stack of blocks, the weather, the grass growing between cracks, the droplets of rain on your window on a summer eve, and many others.
All we need is a child’s natural curiosity then Kids’ Cabin will provide the learning experience, learning environment and learning opportunity (and fun!). Parents are so welcome to help pump up the STEAM too…
The workshops are adapted, developmentally appropriate and open to ALL children, aged 3 to 7.
What’s in it for the child? STEAM in early childhood education develops critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills necessary for success in school life and success in adult life.
